First Time Central Heating Grant

If you receive ECO4 benefits as a homeowner or private tenant, we will carry out an Energy Performance Report (EPR) to determine if your property has an E or below rating. If that’s the case, you may qualify for a government grant to install a First-time central heating system. However, if you live in a rental property, you must obtain permission from your letting agent or landlord before proceeding.

If you wish to upgrade your existing heating, such as electric room heaters, portable electric heaters, inefficient storage heaters, oil/LPG boilers with gas boilers, and central heating, your property must have a gas meter installed before 01-04-2022 (evidence required).

If there is no gas meter present or installed after 1st April 2022, you can upgrade existing heating with electrical heating, such as an air source heat pump with radiators or efficient storage heaters.

In Some cases, you may be eligible for solar panels and wall insulation. You must undergo a free assessment to determine eligibility to apply for the grant. You can apply now in just two minutes and check eligibility.
